Tonight's The Night

Writer's picture: Nancy TefftNancy Tefft

Over the past year, my friends and I have been preparing for our very first art show. We have visual art ranging from paintings and prints, jewelry, glass, religious gifts, and home decor. We have performing arts including poetry readings and original music. Everyone, down to the coffee roaster, the shares an unshakeable faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ, His Love, and His Life. We are all works of art. We are all windows of His Light.

Special thanks to fellow artist, Annmarie Drvol for putting together our performance schedule.

10/9 The Art of the Written Word 2:00pm - 3:00 PM Three Catholic women, three genres, one hour of inspiring writing! Come join us in the Holy Family Shrine chapel to hear these writers share the art of the written word through a Catholic lens.

Poet Annemarie Drvol will share what she calls "the poetry of the moment" as she explores the joys and challenges of motherhood, hope in the midst of grief, and finding God in nature and love.

Having thrice been published as "original cast" during her career as an actor, Miriam Gutiérrez now explores new territory as a playwright with her first full-length work "Gianna's Glove." As Miriam shares an excerpt, you'll get to know saintly doctor St. Gianna at her maternal best while simultaneously learning about a modern-day couple struggling with infertility. In the post-Roe world, now more than ever we need the healing, happy, holy presence of the saints.

Meet Morgan: a rough teen with a restless spirit. His past had made him hard, and he wasn't about to let anyone in to hurt him again. He didn't need or want surrogate parents. If his own parents didn't think anything of him, why should he trust someone else? Then there was Joe. How could one guy and a guitar become everyone's Dad just by offering a plate of cookies and a friendly ear? Join fiction writer Nancy Tefft as she reads Morgan's journey of healing from her upcoming novel.

10/16 Stephen M. Tefft, Singer-Songwriter: From Prodigal to "Home"

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Home is a term the encompasses every hope, every longing, every desire of the heart. It is that place of safety when life throws mud and curve balls. It is the idea of escape from the present situation. Home is with God. The prodigal son understood too late what home truly was. His father never gave up hope that he would return. Join Stephen M. Tefft as he performs his original music from his new CD "Home."

10/23 Stephen M. Tefft, Singer-Songwriter: Windows to "Good Things"

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

We want love. It is one of the most basic and often overlooked needs of the human condition. We are called to be windows of God's light to others. Others are how we experience God's love here on Earth. If all we had was today, this very moment, how would we spend it? Join Stephen M. Tefft as he performs original music from his new CD "Good Things."
