Being Martha

Welcome to summer at the Tefft house.

In the last few weeks, the family has begun the process of reorganizing the house. We have also begun a series of home repairs, managed illnesses, and wondered where July disappeared to.

We have worked hard, played hard, prayed hard, and binged our favorite shows... hard. I made lists and checked off boxes. I sorted and stored. I folded and drawered. I feel like I am missing something. Let's see. It's on the tip of my tongue...

Oh, that's right. I forgot to rest in the Lord.

Martha, burdened with much serving, came to Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me." The Lord said to her in reply, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing..." Luke 10: 40-42
