Making It to Payday

ree

As a reader, I have never been a skip to the end kind of person. As long as there were pages left, I have always had faith that things would work themselves out. In life I find that many times I am in the middle of the chapter, and I want to take a peek, just to make sure.

Recently, I have been called to break some old habits. It is never easy or fun. Sometimes, it's worth it. Sometimes I put in all of the work, and it turns out to be a complete waste of time. Doing all of the research on allergies and elimination diets was a great use of my time. While jumping on a fad bandwagon, was three months of my life I am never getting back.

I want to believe that this new way of doing things is going to result in something beautiful, but I know it will take a lot of hard work and dedication to get there. Am I climbing a mountain, or am I just climbing out of a pit? Will it result in breathtaking beauty or a new and different kind of desolation? In the end, I guess it doesn't really matter. I am called, so I must go.

How lovely your dwelling, O LORD of hosts! My soul yearns and pines for the courts of the LORD. My heart and flesh cry out for the living God. As the sparrow finds a home and the swallow a nest to settle her young, my home is by your altars, LORD of hosts, my king and my God! Blessed are those who dwell in your house! They never cease to praise you. Blessed the man who finds refuge in you, in their hearts are pilgrim roads. As they pass through the Baca valley, they find spring water to drink. The early rain covers it with blessings. They will go from strength to strength and see the God of gods on Zion. Psalm 84: 2-8
