Carry on Bravely

Yesterday I began the overwhelming process of spring cleaning. In the midst of the clutter, I found a gem. It was a candle with a quote by St. Zellie Martin, "Carry on bravely." The Martins were no strangers to tragedy. Their story can be found here.

The person who gave it to me reminds me a lot of Zellie in her way of looking at a situation with both steadfast faith and an understanding of what is at stake. When the world seems overwhelming, she gives it to God. To God, every worldly problem is small and manageable.

Your strength does not lie in numbers nor does Your power depend upon strong men. You are the God of the lowly, the helper of the oppressed, the support of the weak, the protector of the forsaken, the savior of those who have lost all hope. Judith 9: 11
