My teenager always loved the way my calendar noted "April Fool's Day." It was "All Fools Day." He said there were three special days in the life a Catholic each year: All Saints Day for the Church Triumphant, All Souls Day for the Church Suffering, and All Fools Day for the Church Militant, you know, the rest of us.
I decided this year there would only be nice tricks. My kids rose to the challenge. There was a box left on my porch. It had a hand-drawn label complete with bar code and QR code. It wiggled. Honestly, my first thought was, "Well, it can't be the cat. I just saw her inside." Nope, it was the contortionist daughter gigging as I opened the flap!
Every good act of giving and every perfect gift are from above, coming down from the Father of all light. James 1: 17
