Getting Back to Work
There are two ways to deal with a long illness: wait until I feel better or feel better by sheer force of will. I have decided that today is the day to start feeling better. I have made a plan. I did not hit the snooze. I am moving forward instead of standing still. I may have purchased a really beautiful Ethiopian whole bean light roast to help me get through the day. After a long illness, my children have a difficult time getting back to their usual school routine. Algebra has been an ongoing problem. I have decided to reset their goals. Let's be honest, if they can write a budget, account for their income and outcome, and live within their means, they have passed math and are on the road to a successful life. Algebra is a journey. It's okay to lose the map a few times. It's okay to start over and look at it with new eyes. It's okay to not finish on time. Algebra is not a race to the end. It is preparation for life. Sometimes coffee and chai tea are required for medicinal purposes.
