Today is the day! I am now the proud owner of sinus pressure, body aches, fever and chills, and a lack of energy. When the kids are sick, I try to instill feelings of hope in them. Oh, it's okay, I'll help you with whatever you need; let me get that for you; here's a vanilla milkshake to soothe your throat; how about a nice cup of warm milk and honey?
When I am sick, everything just seems to stop. No chores get done. No school gets done. There are definitely feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. I cannot be trusted to make life-altering decisions, and the only solution my kids can come up with is binge-watching their latest obsession. Well, a least they're consistent.
For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weakness, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong. 2 Cor 12: 10
